Service Info

If you are wondering what our weekly Sunday service is like then this is the best place to find out. To be honest every week is slightly different than the week before. We follow the pattern established in Acts 2:42 and 1 Corinthians 11:2-14:40. We also draw from the rich history of 2000 years of Christian tradition rooted in the Scripture. A general outline of what we do is provided below.

I. Welcome & Announcements.

We like to say hello to one another and give/get an update on what’s going on in the life of the Church and in our lives. Music may or may not be in the background during this time. It is a great time to fill out a member or visitors card. Announcements are usually also made at this time.

II. Prayer of preparation.

We want to make sure our focus is on God so we talk with Him. The early church did it, the reformers did, and most of us do it every day in our personal lives.

III. Opening Music or Liturgy.

We either play some music or we will participate in some form of Liturgy such as a responsive readings, reflections from Scripture, or confession of the faith.

IV. Offering & Prayer.

We have a chance to give something for the ministry if we want to or to put in the offering basket a info card. At the end of the service you can put your offering or response & info sheet in the basket.

V. Prayer and Reflection.

We may or may not do another prayer at this time. Depends on the service.

VI. Praise and Worship.

Praise and Worship are twin responses to knowing God. Worship is our response to the awesomeness of who God is. Praise is us giving thanks for who God is. If your not a Christian you may feel free to sing along or just sit back and observe.

VII. Message or Sermon.

Usually the pastor will pray for blessing on his sermon/message and then either a sermon or message is given. Sermons are generally multiple part messages.

VIII. Prayer and Reflection.

A time of reflection is given where prayer, response, or music may occur.

IX. Benediction occurs.

We pray for God’s blessing on what was preached, that application occurs in our lives, and that we grow closer to the Lord.

X. Dismissal.

We also asks if you hadn’t turned in a guest/member card that you do so on the way out. We then talk, go out to eat, or go home. Depends on what everyones up to doing. Guest are welcome to go out with the pastor or church member on us. We enjoy the blessings of life.
